Mizzou Links, 1-8-14: Hoops conference play begins, Biedsheid moves in, and Josey moves on

Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Missouri's second SEC basketball season begins tonight, Cameron Biedscheid is evidently transferring to Missouri, and Henry Josey is still leaving.

Before we go about our regular programming, I want to ask you to keep The Beef and his family in your thoughts. Yesterday, his father passed away after a 15-month (or so) battle with cancer. Cancer's an asshole, basically, and has taken away a couple of our friends' parents in recent weeks.

Seth's dad loved his son and his grandkids and the Jets and Lehigh, and he loved seeing all of Seth's friends at Homecoming each year. Even during his cancer battle, he came down to Missouri for grandchildren's birthdays and whatnot, as if it were a no-brainer to do so; Seth is one of the most loyal, dedicated friends I've ever seen, and it's not hard to figure out where he got that trait. Rest in peace, Dave.
