PowerMizzou.com - Murphy's Moment a long time coming
"It was crazy because the whole drive I was thinking about Henry," Murphy said. "I was thinking about how it was a similar situation and I mean he came out and he made the big run. When I did it I celebrated a lot because I was thinking about that moment."

MUTIGERS.COM Mizzou's Ray Named Finalist for Hendricks Award
Missouri DE Shane Ray a finalist for Hendricks Award - David Morrison
He has five two-sack games this season and broke the Tigers' single-season record of 11.5 -- set by Aldon Smith in 2009, equaled by Michael Sam last year -- with his second sack against Kentucky on Nov. 1. Sam was a Hendricks finalist last year. Texas' Jackson Jeffcoat won the award.
Who in the Heck is Shane Ray? - Roll 'Bama Roll
Ray, who is seeing his draft stock soar after a fantastic 2014 campaign, will have his hands full this weekend against the Alabama Crimson Tide offensive line in the SEC Championship game. But Ray has been a consistent performer regardless of competition throughout his career, and the Crimson Tide will conversely have its hands full against the talented and aggressive defensive end.
For Markus Golden, getting to star at Mizzou was worth the wait | Tod Palmer
"He’s the most humble person in the world based off that experience," said one of Golden’s older brothers, Sherman Golden. "He learned what it felt like to lose everything, but he came back stronger than ever, and that’s what we see today."
COLUMBIA, Mo.: JUCO transfer Golden big success story at Missouri | Football | FresnoBee.com
"Just to look back and know what was going on when I was in JUCO and thinking it was so long ago, it just came fast," the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Golden said. "To be here and have this situation, to really just live out my dream, is a blessing."

MU's line success a potent mix of talent, scheme - David Morrison
It’s not only Ray, who is tied for fourth in the nation with 13½ sacks and tied for third with 20½ tackles for loss. It’s not only Markus Golden, who has four sacks and 6½ tackles for loss over the past three games. It’s not only the defensive tackle trio of Harold Brantley, Matt Hoch and Lucas Vincent, who have combined for 20½ tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Missouri goes eight-deep with linemen that have recorded a sack or tackle for loss this season.
2014 Alabama Football: Previewing the Missouri Defense - Roll 'Bama Roll
While many experts and oddsmakers have seemingly already awarded Alabama the title before the ball is snapped, don't count the Tigers out just yet. Mizzou will bring, perhaps, the best defensive line in college football to play the Tide this weekend. The Tigers will need a strong showing from their defense to compete with Alabama, who may be in danger of a letdown after an exhausting and emotional Iron Bowl victory last Saturday.

The 3 reasons Missouri could beat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game | AL.com
The Tigers lost two very good defensive ends last year in second-round NFL draft pick Kony Ealy and 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Michael Sam, but they may be even better on the edges this season. Shane Ray and Markus Golden have combined for 22 sacks this season, with Ray's 13.5 sacks leading the SEC and tied for fourth in the nation. They've also combined for 36.5 tackles for loss, with Ray's 20.5 stops behind the line tied for most in the SEC and third in the country. Alabama has allowed only 11 sacks this year but freshman left tackle Cameron Robinson suffered a sprained shoulder in Saturday's Iron Bowl win over Auburn. He's expected to be ready to go Saturday in Atlanta, but if he's less than 100 percent, Ray and/or Golden could be trouble.

Mizzou shifts focus to new football complex : Dave Matter
Alden and executive associate AD Bryan Maggard met with a few reporters today to lay out long-term plans for a new facility that will house the day-to-day operations of the football program: coaches’ offices, locker room, weight room, training room, etc. The new building, planned for just south of Memorial Stadium, will free up current space occupied by the football team in Mizzou Athletics Training Complex, located across Providence Boulevard.

Missouri puts Memorial Stadium project on fast track - Joe Walljasper
"He said, ‘Hey, I’ve been thinking about this. We’ve got all these resources going to this indoor facility, and I know at the same time, on our master plan, we have this end-zone complex as well, too. What do you think about us putting this one on pause and putting our attention back here?’ " Alden said Thursday in a meeting with reporters. "For me, it was like, ‘Shoot, Coach, we’ve talked about this.’ It was not our first time we’d talked about this."
Playoffs? Recruiting?
"It’s important that whoever wins the championship of the league — give it a caveat ... you can’t have a five-loss team — but I think the scenario that Missouri has in front of them, if they upset Alabama, Alabama can’t go,’’ Danielson said this week. "I would assume (in that case that MU coach) Gary Pinkel would make a strong case that the rest of the conference should support Missouri as their champion.
The good news is Mizzou is recruiting a kicker, the weird news is they're telling him he'll be drafted in the 1st round...

Do we have to play this game tonight?
Anderson's Tigers slowed by sloppy starts : Dave Matter
The Tigers are averaging 64 points per game, second-fewest in the SEC, and averaging 14.1 turnovers, second-most in the league. At times in Tuesday’s game Mizzou struggled protecting the ball without sophomore point guard Wes Clark, who’s serving an indefinite suspension for breaking a team rule. It’s uncertain if he’ll be available for tonight’s game.
Statistics show Tigers struggling to defend on the court - Columbia Missourian
Missouri’s defense is statistically lacking – their highest categorical ranking is 142nd (points allowed per game) – and Missouri is in the bottom half of the Southeastern Conference in every other statistical category.
