Mizzou Links, 2-11-14: Reactions to Michael Sam's announcement and a big birthday

Bill Carter

Mizzou celebrates a birthday by owning the Michael Sam story, and Michael Sam gets support from some pretty high places.

Mizzou is embroiled in controversy this morning, so let's just suck it up and talk about a truth that many people don't want to hear. I know this could get spidery, but we have to deal with it:

Mizzou is #TeamCake. I know this is going to be tough for some in this community. I know that this goes against the core beliefs of many portions of the Mizzou fanbase. But with an open dialogue and some generally open-minded thinking, we can all get through this.

With that out of the way, we can move on to less sensitive topics.
