Charles Harris voted preseason 2nd-team All-SEC

8

Charles Harris is awesome and could end up becoming Missouri's next first-round draft pick, but in 2016 he plays in the SEC's most crowded position. He was therefore voted only second-team on the media's All-SEC preseason ballot. First-teamers: Texas A&M's Myles Garrett, Alabama's Jonathan Allen, Auburn's Carl Lawson, and Tennessee's Derek Barnett. The inclusion of Lawson is ... interesting, considering he had 3 tackles for loss in 7 games last year. But hey, whatever fills the disrespect chamber.

"This is my team"

Mizzou season ticket commercials are typically either great or terrible, with little in between. This year's is, uh, well ... not great. The ending's pretty good, at least.

Missouri announces SEC Media Days attendees

Missouri announced that Charles Harris, Michael Scherer, and Sean Culkin will attend SEC Media Days in Hoover next week with head coach Barry Odom. Mizzou's turn on the mic will come on Wednesday, July 13. I don't know, do you think Harris might be a hit?

Kim Anderson says Missouri is not done recruiting for 2016

10

Evidently Anderson hasn't given up on filling the final scholarship Missouri has to give. "At some point, the pool of players will dry up, and there won’t be anybody left. But I do think there are still some guys out there that we’ve actively been pursuing. To give you a date, I would probably say late July, early August. If we haven’t used them by then, we would probably hold onto them."

Charles Harris: the #13 player in college football

Pro Football Focus put out its 101 best players in CFB for 2016, and the former no-star recruit from Kansas City places in the top 15, right behind Florida State's Dalvin Cook and Georgia's Nick Chubb. "The Tigers continue to churn out quality defensive linemen and Harris broke out in 2015 as the next great one at Missouri. He loves his spin move which helped him rank ninth among edge defenders with a +30.1 pass rush grade."

The Coffeyville CC tackle picked up an offer from the Tigers and is currently deciding between Missouri and Minnesota after having been released from his LOI to San Diego State.

Quinnipiac PG transfer to visit Missouri

26

CBS reporter (and noted transfer hater) Jon Rothstein is reporting that Quinnipiac graduate transfer Giovanni McLean will be visiting Mizzou and Seton Hall. Wherever he elects to transfer, he will be eligible immediately. It's strange that Mizzou would be attempting to add more pieces to the backcourt, but graduate transfers are kind of a no-lose situation as long as they progress academically and don't hurt your APR. Mizzou needs size a lot more than it needs another point guard, but McLean wouldn't hurt the Tigers' scholarship numbers moving forward, and he's pretty decent -- he averaged 12.9 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 3.3 APG for the Bobcats, and I'm guessing he had a role to play in what was pretty good FG% defense. So hey, why not, I guess. If there aren't any big men available, just add one more decent piece.
