Missouri has released its depth chart for Saturday's game against UConn. There are two noteworthy changes: Russell Hansbrough is out, and Taylor Chappell is now starting over Alec Abeln at left guard.
Offense
QB
Maty Mauk (6'0, 195, Jr.) -- 28-for-58, 329 yards, 5 TD, 3 INT, 3 sacks (5.2 yards/att); 13 carries, 97 yards
Drew Lock (6'4, 205, Fr.) -- 6-for-11, 138 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack (11.1 yards/att)
Eddie Printz (6'3, 205, So.) -OR-
Marvin Zanders (6'1, 185, RSFr.)
One wouldn't expect many changes here.
RBRussell Hansbrough (5'9, 195, Sr.) -- 7 carries, 38 yards (5.4) -- OUT
Ish Witter (5'10, 190, So.) -- 25 carries, 83 yards (3.3); 6 targets, 4 catches, 15 yards (2.5)
Tyler Hunt (5'11, 210, Sr.) -- 7 carries, 24 yards (3.4); 1 target, 1 catch, 78 yards, 1 TD *OR*
Morgan Steward (6'0, 210, Jr.) -- 7 carries, 14 yards (2.0); 1 target, 0 catches
Chase Abbington (6'2, 215, So.) -- 1 carry, 5 yards
Hansbrough tried as hard as he could to get back on the field against Arkansas State, but he was clearly limited, and he's evidently going to sit out the UConn game.
The rest of the depth chart seems more orderly than it probably is. Ish Witter is scheduled to start, and Tyler Hunt and Morgan Steward are co-No. 2s. Only, we know that Witter hit his head pretty hard and was taken out of the ASU game, that Hunt has been gimpy with a groin issue, and that Steward is still fighting his damaged hip. That no freshman is listed says the staff really doesn't want to tear off Marquise Doherty's or Ryan Williams' redshirt just yet, but a lot of that will depend on the progress of Hansbrough and what these guys do when they get a shot. Unless there's a change in the typical tendencies -- these depth charts are typically pretty good road maps regarding who will and won't play -- neither Doherty nor Williams will see the field on Saturday.
WR-X
J'Mon Moore (6'3, 190, So.) -- 14 targets, 5 catches, 91 yards (6.5), 1 TD
DeSean Blair (6'3, 190, RSFr.) -- 3 targets, 1 catch, 21 yards (7.0)
Emanuel Hall (6'3, 200, Fr.) -- 4 targets, 1 catch, 9 yards (2.3)
WR-H
Nate Brown (6'3, 205, So.) -- 12 targets, 7 catches, 115 yards (9.6), 2 TD
Thomas Richard (6'1, 190, RSFr.) -- 2 targets, 1 catch, 4 yards (2.0)
Ray Wingo (5'11, 180, RSFr.) -- 1 target, 1 catch, -3 yards
WR-Z
Wesley Leftwich (6'1, 205, Sr.) -- 2 targets, 1 catch, 32 yards (16.0), 1 TD
Keyon Dilosa (6'3, 200, RSFr.) -- 3 targets, 3 catches, 25 yards (8.3)
Eric Laurent (6'2, 215, Jr.)
No changes here. I was a little curious about Moore vs. Blair after Moore's horrendous Saturday evening in Jonesboro, but he remains the starter.
TE
Sean Culkin (6'6, 245, Jr.) -- 9 targets, 8 catches, 75 yards (8.3), 1 TD
Jason Reese (6'5, 250, So.) -- 3 targets, 1 catch, 5 yards (1.7)
Clayton Echard (6'5, 260, Sr.) -- 1 target, 0 catches
Just imagine what Maty Mauk's completion percentage would be without Culkin's 89% catch rate, huh?
LT
Connor McGovern (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 30 career starts
Paul Adams (6'6, 290, RSFr.)
LG
Taylor Chappell (6'5, 305, Sr.) -- 10 career starts
Alec Abeln (6'3, 290, So.) -- 2 career starts
C
Evan Boehm (6'3, 320, Sr.) -- 42 career starts
Brad McNulty (6'4, 305, Sr.) -- 15 career starts
RG
Mitch Hall (6'5, 310, Sr.) -- 6 career starts
Kevin Pendleton (6'4, 315, RSFr.)
RT
Nate Crawford (6'5, 300, So.) -- 2 career starts
Malik Cuellar (6'5, 300, Jr.)
Anecdotally, it seemed Chappell was playing most of the snaps at LG in the second half against ASU, so his overtaking Abeln isn't the biggest surprise in the world. Chappell has a pretty bad blown block on a Witter carry in the fourth quarter, but he probably had a role in the overall more stable second-half blocking, too.
Defense
DE
Marcell Frazier (6'6, 265, So.) -- 2.5 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 QBH
Walter Brady (6'3, 255, RSFr.) -- 3.0 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 QBH
DT
Josh Augusta (6'4, 345, Jr.) -- 1.5 tackles, 1 PBU
Terry Beckner Jr. (6'4, 300, Fr.) -- 2.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU
Josh Moore (6'5, 260, Fr.)
NG
Ricky Hatley (6'4, 285, Jr.) -- 3.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 QBH
A.J. Logan (6'2, 300, So.) -- 0.5 tackles
DE
Charles Harris (6'3, 255, So.) -- 8.5 tackles, 6.0 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 2 QBH
Nate Howard (6'4, 230, Fr.) -- 2.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL
Spencer Williams (6'3, 245, RSFr.)
No changes beyond the fact that there's no longer an "OR" between Augusta and Beckner. Augusta is the lone starter, I guess. Regardless, one wouldn't have expected any major changes after last week's phenomenal performance.
WLB
Kentrell Brothers (6'1, 235, Sr.) -- 25.0 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 2 INT, 1 blocked kick
Joey Burkett (6'2, 210, So.) -- 5.5 tackles
MLB
Michael Scherer (6'3, 230, Jr.) -- 10.0 tackles, 3.5 TFL
Brandon Lee (6'2, 220, RSFr.) -- 0.5 tackles, 1 PBU
SLB
Donavin Newsom (6'2, 230, Jr.) -- 8.0 tackles, 1 TFL
Clarence Green (6'0, 220, Sr.) -- 5.0 tackles
Terez Hall (6'2, 215, Fr.) -- 1.0 tackles
Ditto here. No changes, and none were expected.
CB
Kenya Dennis (5'11, 200, Sr.) -- 5.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 1 PBU
John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.) -- 2.5 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU
CB
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 7.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL
Logan Cheadle (5'10, 180, So.)
Finis Stribling IV (5'11, 175, RSFr.)
Ditto.
SS
Anthony Sherrils (6'0, 190, So.) -- 8.5 tackles, 1 TFL
Thomas Wilson (5'10, 190, So.) -- 1.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL
Cam Hilton (6'0, 180, Fr.)
FS
Ian Simon (6'0, 195, Sr.) -- 8.0 tackles, 1 FR
Tavon Ross (6'0, 200, RSFr.) -- 1.5 tackles
Ditto.
Special Teams
K
Andrew Baggett (6'1, 215, Sr.) -- 7-7 PAT, 3-3 FG under 40, 1-1 FG over 40
Still Baggett.
P
Corey Fatony (5'11, 185, Fr.) -- 12 punts, 47.8 avg, 4 inside 20; 13 kickoffs, 64.3 avg, 6 touchbacks
Dayton Balvanz (6'5, 200, Jr.)
Definitely still Fatony.
KR
Anthony Sherrils (6'0, 190, So.) -- 4 KR, 18.5 average
John Gibson (6'0, 190, Jr.)
PR
Aarion Penton (5'10, 190, Jr.) -- 6 PR, 12.7 avg, 1 TD (sort of)
Thomas Wilson (5'10, 190, So.)
Still Sherrils and Penton.
