Live Update: NCAA Regional Women's Golf
Alright...as alluded to in the morning links, Mizzou opens NCAA Regional play this afternoon down in Athens, GA. They are ranked 16th in the field of 21...and will need to come in 8th or better to move on this season. They are facing a pretty darn tough bracket, considering they are ranked 45th in the nation. Let's see how they are doing....
Mizzou got off later than most today and will be playing with a number of schools not ranked as high. Right now, they are sitting in 4th place at even, but that of course is just into their round. Duke is the #1 team in the country and is -1 on their round, which is starting to wind down. Once the early teams start getting off of the course, we will have a better idea of where Mizzou will need to shoot to remain competitve and in the hunt.
Right now, only Maddie Augustsson and Lindsay Haupt are on the course. And to review, the high score is thrown out, the low 4 will be counted, so you can survive 1 bad round, but no more.
Julia Potter E 0
Chelsea Schriewer E 0
Michelle Morgan E 0
Lindsey Haupt +2 3
Madde Augustsson E 3

2:10 update, doing alright so far
All of the early teams are in the clubhouse, so that gives us a little bit more clarity.
#1 Duke -3
#5 Florida +2
#32 S. Carolina +3
#35 Furman +4
#31 L'ville +5
8th place in clubhouse - #15 Wake Forest at +10
Mizzou currently sits at +3 with the following indv. score
Julia Potter -3 6
Chelsea Schriewer +3 6
Michelle Morgan +2 6
Lindsey Haupt +5 9
Madde Augustsson +1 9
HUGE day so far from Julia Potter...and decent scores from the rest of the ladies. Keep it up and they will be sitting right in the hunt after day 1. This regional (there are 3) is probably the strongest, with 16 of the top 45 and the #1 team in it.

3:00 p.m. update - past the turn...
...and we are right in the middle of things.
I do not know if it was by design, but the strongest teams all had the morning tee times. Right now, only us and Indiana are in the mix of the teams having teed off later.
Right now we are +4 on the round, currently in 4th place. Indiana is +7 at about the same juncture and also above the "cut" line, which is currently #10 Auburn and #20 Virginia at +8.
Individual Scores:
Julia Potter -3 9
Chelsea Schriewer +3 9
Michelle Morgan +3 9
Lindsey Haupt +5 12
Madde Augustsson +1 12
Julia Potter is tied for 4th individually, with the leader from L'ville at -5. high score right now belongs to a golfer from Charleston Southern, who is at +24....after 9. Their team however is at +11 because of the other four.
Anyway...hanging tough so far with the big dogs...let's see if we can keep it up on the back 9.

4:00 p.m. update: down the stretch we come...
....and have fallen back a bit thanks to a rough start to the back (actually front) nine by Potter and Schreiwer.
Currently, we are sitting in 8th, tied with #15 Wake at #10 Indiana has fallen back to #13 and everyone else is in the clubhouse.
Individual scores:
Julia Potter -1 12
Chelsea Schriewer +7 15
Michelle Morgan +4 15
Lindsey Haupt +6 15
Madde Augustsson +1 12
Great round by Augustsson to help out.
Kinsey Green from Charleston Southern is +34 through 12 holes...she has one bogey and 3 doubles...the rest...are "other"...including a 10.

Friday morning update
Round 1 closed exactly the way you would NOT want it to close, with Mizzou golfers each losing some strokes and knocking the team down to +17 on the afternoon, 7 shots back of 8th. Going out last yesterday means they are out first today and action is already underway in the 2nd round.
Currently Mizzou is sitting at +22, with a rough start to the morning.
Julia Potter +1 E 3
Chelsea Schriewer +9 +4 6
Michelle Morgan +4 +2 3
Lindsey Haupt +6 +1 3
Madde Augustsson +6 +2 3
They are the best team on the course right now, but are going to need to put up a low score and hope that some of the leaders fall through them. They cannot guarantee their shot at the top 8 this morning, but they can lose their shot at it

10:00 a.m. comment...I think it is about over...
Not looking too good for the ladies right now as a few have fallen apart and Mizzou is already +20 on the DAY.
Julia Potter +1 +2 9
Chelsea Schriewer +9 +15 15
Michelle Morgan +4 +6 9
Lindsey Haupt +6 +6 9
Madde Augustsson +6 +6 9
They are sitting now down in 19th place, having fallen through some of the other teams which are on the course. In fact, the have shot the worst round of the day.
