The competition has just completed and follow all the action below, as Cantwell went out early, but then had to come back to win his first world title

Reviewin' & Previewin' - Men's and Women's Swimming

The Swimming and Diving programs at Mizzou continue to slowly build towards national prominence. Was another step taken in 2008-2009 and what can be expected next season?

Reviewin' & Previewin' - Wrestling and Other Stuff

What better way to get ready for the 2008-2009 Mizzou season (which will start this next weekend with Soccer) than to FINALLY get the wrestling wrap-up down.  I will save the year to year review...

Christian Cantwell: Olympic Silver Medalist

UPDATE, 9:20am: It's over. Cantwell ripped off a 21.09 on his last throw, vaulting him from 5th to 2nd. I'm sure he'll be disappointed it's not a gold, but it's something.

Christian Cantwell advances to Shot Put finals

Christian comes through his round (1 of 2) in 2nd place currently (behind Polish thrower Tomasz Majewski). In the qualifying round, it seems you are automatically in after throwing 20.40 meters. Cantwell scored on his 1st throw, but did not hit the distance until the 2nd of 3, where he threw 20.48. American Reece Hoffa also made the distance at 20.41, and Adam Nelson is likely throwing now. The finals will be competed tomorrow morning (or later tonight for Cantwell) and we will be all over it as they happen as best we can.

Quite a bit of good Mizzou news over the weekend to offset the bad taste of Keon Lawrence's impending transfer. First up...Chase Daniel: Big 12 Male Athlete of the Year. Next, as The Beef...

Christian Cantwell: Olympian

A very exciting six throws, but Cantwell gets it done after fouling on all six throws back in 2004. He finishes in 2nd, and was just quoted on NBC as not having a great day. Congrats to Christian, who will head to China as a favorite to medal at the very least, if not win the entire thing.
