With all the wrap-up stuff about basketball going on recently, it struck me at how highly regarded Norm Stewart is. I'm not from Missouri -- Texas born, Texas bred as most of you know -- so I didn't really understand the allure. On the other hand, I went to Missouri during the Quin Snyder era, and always thought of him as being a fine coach. Admittedly, I'm a Quin Snyder apologist, but I just always thought he was a pretty decent guy who made a couple bad decisions. So I finally did something that I've wanted to do for a while: compare Stewart and Snyder side by side. My opinion's probably not going to be popular, but I think you can see by the chart that the result is both clear and a bit shocking. Click here to get a better view of the chart.
I finally got to watch a game with Coach Stewart. Here's the photographic proof. Too bad Mizzou lost by 10. Sorry about the picture quality, it was taken with my cell phone.
