Wrestling/Gymnastics Recap

What the heck...we'll pull a little double duty this morning and review two sports who competed last night, as the #17 wrestling team (per InterMat) traveled east to take on perennial power...

Mizzou Gymnastics Beats Two Ranked Programs

The #15 Mizzou Gymnastics squad beat the #14 and #16 schools this evening out in Las Vegas. Neither Mary Burke nor Sarah Shire won the All-Around (some LSU gymnast did with a RIDICULOUS score of 39.625) but the score which Mizzou put up (over 195) is a pretty darn impressive score at this VERY early stage of the season.

Some Impressive Performances from MU Gymnastics

The Black and Gold meet is certainly not a great barometer for how the team will compete come the regular season, but some scores of note. Senior Sarah Shire scored 39.550 in the all-around Sophomore Mary Burke scored 39.400 in the all-around Senior Danielle Guide scored 39.300 in the all-around For some comparison, Adrienne Perry became the first all-around All American for Mizzou last year...with a score of 39.350 Great start for these ladies

Reviewin' & Previewin' - Gymnastics

It was one of the best seasons in Mizzou Gymnastics history in 2008-2009. They will lose Adrianne Perry, but return All-Everything Sarah Shire in 2009-2010, so what should they expect?

Mizzou Links, ¡CINCO DE MAYO!

I hadn't heard of "ROARS" until about 5pm yesterday, but it sounds like it was a pretty fun evening at Mizzou Arena last night, as lots of Mizzou athletes received attention and affirmation as...

Monday Musings - The 40-win Season Edition

Reviewing the week that was for the Mizzou Tiger sports teams

Perry and Shire are All-Americans

From the looks of this article, both are in solid shape to become All-Around All-Americans, which is the top-16 from the two sessions. I had understood the evening session to be the finals, which is not the case. It is another 6 teams + wild cards participating, and the combined results dictate all-around AA's. Meanwhile, Perry is a 2nd team AA and Sarah Shire has advanced to the vault championships on Saturday night with a chance to become a national champion. She is also a 1st team AA, the first for the program since 1990.

Feel free to try to follow the action via this link, but so far the updates to the site are few and far between.  Shire is going to rotate with the Georgia team, while Perry will travel with the...
