As rpt mentioned last night, Gary Pinkel's got himself a spankin' new contract. Honestly, the numbers on the contract aren't quite as high as I thought they would be, but it's third in the conference behind Stoops and Brown and Top 20 nationally, and hey...if he's happy, I'm happy. Dave Matter, PowerMizzou, The Missourian, KC Star, and Post-Dispatch have more.
Christmas weekend has been at least a little nice to Mizzou recruiting-wise. Wichita ATH Chris Harper, who committed to childhood favorite K-State a week or so ago, has de-committed because the coach who recruited him--James Franklin--has taken a job at Maryland. He will once again consider Mizzou. Also, Texas ATH Derrick Hall is visiting Columbia in January and loves Jeremy Maclin so much that he's going to try to see him (and Mizzou) at the Cotton Bowl.
The Missourian writes about the "hundreds" of defenses Mizzou basketball will throw at an opponent throughout the course of a game. Meanwhile, Graham Watson looks into some unsettling end-of-game trends.
Finally...as always, the Hawaii Bowl was fantastically entertaining last night. Good for ECU for pulling off a fun win, and good for my wife, who is giddy about her 8-4 Bowl Pick 'Em record...
