Iowa State 72, Mizzou 67. Here's the box score. Initial observations:
- Mizzou actually outshot ISU 43.3%-39.0%...but like I said, in "really need a basket" situations, Mizzou shot about 8%, ISU about 78%.
- Free throws: ISU 37, MU 15.
- (Assists+Steals)/Turnovers Ratio: ISU 1.9 (19-10), MU 0.9 (15-17). Pretty sure MU never ever ever wins when they lose this category.
Here are the game stories: Tigers show up too late against ISU (Trib), MU men's basketball team left behind (Missourian), Mizzou falls to Iowa State (KC Star), Tigers put on a late charge but fall short (Post-Dispatch), Tigers drop another close one in Ames (PowerMizzou), ISU finds a touch of magic (Des Moines Register).
Dave Matter keeps tabs on offseason changes in Big 12 football coaching staffs.
Lots of interesting recruiting bits from PowerMizzou this week: Will Compton finally sets a date for his announcement (it's Tuesday), Derrick Hall IS visiting now (though Mizzou fans aren't particularly happy with some of his comments), and Zaviar Gooden talks about his OSU visit (he didn't commit).
Bobby Knight finally got #900 last night. I don't have a lot to add beyond that. Congrats to him.
Finally...Oklahoma State 76, Mizzou Women 41. GGH. The KC Star has more...if you dare.
