MU Football Records Chase (updated 10/14)

Lots of movement with one Mizzou record broken and another on the edge of falling this coming week, with yet another hopefully to come down at Homecoming.

As always, thanks to MUTigers.com for their record keeping, as well as this ridiculously long file from the NCAA

National Passing Yardage:

35. Matt Leinart_________'02-'05______10693

36. Kevin Sweeney______'92-'96______10623

37. Andrew Walter_______'01-'04______10617

38. Brett Basanez_______'02-'05______10580

39. Doug Flutie_________'81-'84______10579

40. Steven Stenstrom____'91-'94______10531

41. Jared Lorenzen______'00-'03______10354

42. Brian McClure_______'82-'85______10280

43. Troy Kopp__________'89-'92______10258

44. Chase Daniel_______'05-'08______10235

Chase's big yardage game helped him pass WIMPRINE and move smartly up the charts.  Strange to me that Brett Basanez passed Doug Flutie by only one yard total over their careers.  And there are some even bigger names to come on this chart after Matt Leinart at 35th.

National Passing Efficiency: (500 completions or more)

12. Chad Pennington_____'97-'99_______156.2

13. Donovan McNabb_____'95-'98_______155.1

14. Tim Rattay___________'97-'99______154.3

15. Duante Culpepper_____'96-'98______153.1

16. David Carr__________''97-'98_______152.9

17. Jason White_________'99-'04______152.7

18. Ben Roethlisberger____'01-'03______151.3

19. Chris Weinke_________'97-'00______151.1

20. Byron Leftwich________'98-'02______150.9

21. Chase Daniel ________ ‘05-08 _____149.7

Chase dropped from 150.5 back about a point...and that was with throwing 3 INT's in the game.

National TD Passes:

29. Paul Pinegar_________'02-'05______84

30. Ryan Schneider_______'00-'03_______82

31. Ryan Dinwiddie_______'00-'03______82

32. Joe Adams__________'77-'80______81

33. Drew Brees__________'97-'00______81

34. Eli Manning__________'00-'03______81

35. Jason White__________'99-'04______81

36. Danny Wimprine_______'01-'04_____81

3?. Chase Daniel ________ ‘05-08 _____ 78

I dont think any of us thought he would only throw 1 TD pass in the game against Ok St.  Keeps WIMPRINE on here at least a little while longer.

Total Offense:

1. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 ____ 13088

2. Chase Daniel _______‘05-08 _____11044

3. Jeff Handy __________ ‘91-94 _____ 6640

4. Phil Bradley _________ ‘77-80 _____ 6459

5. Corby Jones _________‘95-98 _____ 6230

435 total yards for the weekend was a huge number in his effort to catch Brad.  2,000 yards in (up to) 8 games....yeah...am guessing this will happen.

All-Purpose Yardage:

1. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 _____ 4419

2. Jeremy Maclin_______'07-'08______3933

3. Devin West _________ ‘95-98 _____ 3824

4. Brock Olivo _________ ‘94-97 _____ 3475

5. Zack Abron __________‘00-03 _____ 3426

6. Darrell Wallace ______ ‘84-87 _____ 3303

7. Joe Stewart _________‘74-77 _____ 3256

8. James Wilder ________‘78-80 _____ 2769

The kickoffs and punts did give him a chance at some extra yardage especially since it took him awhile to catch his first pass of the evening.  Once he did, he was grabbing them left and right.  A shootout in Texas should give him a great shot at getting this record in front of the sell-out crowd at Homecoming.

Receptions:

1. Martin Rucker (TE) ______ ‘04-07_____ 203

2. Chase Coffman (TE) ____'05-08_____ 201

3. Justin Gage __________ ‘99-02_____ 200

4. Kenny Holly __________ ‘90-93_____ 151

5. Will Franklin __________ ‘04-07_____ 143

6. Victor Bailey___________'90-'92______128

7. Thomson Omboga______'01-'04_____127

8. Brian Sallee___________'91-'94______119

    Jeremy Maclin_________'07-'08_____119

10. Sean Coffey___________'02-'05______118

Quite a week for these two, as Chase will break the record in this next game and Jeremy continues to pass people on the chart.

Receiving Yardage:

1. Justin Gage ____________‘99-02_____2704

2. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08_____2226

3. Martin Rucker (TE) _______ ‘04-07_____2175

4. Victor Bailey ____________ ‘90-92_____2144

5. Will Franklin ____________ ‘04-07_____2125

6. Linzy Collins ____________ ‘89-90_____1760

7. Kenny Holly ____________ ‘90-93_____1708

8. Jeremy Maclin__________'07-'08_____1655

9. Sean Coffey ___________ ‘02-05_____1596

10. Mel Gray _____________ ‘68-70_____1491

11.Hank Burnine __________ ‘53-55_____1445

Tough week for Sean Coffey on the charts, as he gets passed by Maclin in two categories.  Coffman jumped from 5 to 2 this past week and now the countdown will be on to see when/if he can get to Gage.  With (up to) 8 games left, he should.

Receiving TD's:

1. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08______ 23

2. Martin Rucker (TE) _______ ‘04-07______ 18

    Justin Gage ____________ ‘99-02______ 18

4. Mel Gray _______________68-70______ 14

    Jeremy Maclin__________'07-'08_______14

6. Will Franklin ____________ ‘04-07______ 13

    Sean Coffey ____________ ‘02-05______ 13

8. Victor Bailey ____________ ‘90-92______ 12

    Dwayne Blakley _________ ‘98-01______ 12

No movement here as the only TD catch was by Alexander.

Scoring:

1. Jeff Wolfert (PK) _______ ‘06-08_____ 289

2. Brad Smith __________ ‘02-05_____ 284

3. Zack Abron ___________ ‘00-03_____ 252

4. Corby Jones __________ ‘95-98_____ 228

5. Jeff Jacke (PK) ________ ‘88-92_____ 225

6. Bob Steuber __________ ‘40-42_____ 222

7. Tom Whelihan (PK) _____ ‘84-87_____ 191

8. Brock Olivo __________ ‘94-97_____ 188

9. Devin West __________ ‘95-98_____ 174

Congrats Jeff...even if no one else said so on Saturday night.
