Been a long time since I was able to update this, but let's see how the record books shook out after the kU game. With two games remaining on the season, there are still some pretty lofty heights Mizzou players are in position to achieve. How close are they? Click on through to the other side....
National Passing Yardage:
6. Kevin Kolb_________''03-'06______12964
7. Tim Rattay_________'97-'99______12746
8. Luke McCown_______'00-'03_____12666
9. Chris Redman______'96-'99______12541
10. Kliff Kingsbury_____'99-'02______12429
11. Chase Daniel______'05-'08______12060
No movement here....and if he passes Kingsbury...well...am not too sure what sort of sign for the game itself that would be. With two games left, he still has a very good shot at McCown and an outside one at Rattay at #7.
National Completions:
1. Timmy Chang________'00-'04________1388
2. Graham Harrell_______active________1367
3. Kliff Kingsbury________'99-'02________1231
4. Philip Rivers_________'00-'03________1147
5. Colt Brennan_________'05-'07________1115
6. Chase Holbrook_______active________1087
7. Luke McCown________'00-'03________1063
8. Chase Daniel_________'05-'08_______1040
9. Chris Redman________'96-'99________1031
10. Tim Rattay___________'97-'99________1015
Chase Holbrook moved up to 6th, but has no more games. This means that "our" Chase should pass him (but probably not Brennan) and finish 6th. Harrell will take over this record at the bowl game and probably break the 1400 mark.
National Passing Efficiency: (500 completions or more)
15. Chad Pennington_____'97-'99_______156.2
16. Graham Harrell_______active_______155.1
Donovan McNabb_____'95-'98_______155.1
18. Tim Rattay___________'97-'99______154.3
19. Duante Culpepper_____'96-'98______153.1
20. David Carr__________''97-'98_______152.9
21. Jason White_________'99-'04_______152.7
22. Ben Roethlisberger____'01-'03______151.3
23. Chase Daniel_________'05-'08______151.0
Some weird movement here as Bradford and Keenum of Houston (who is only a soph) land on this list for the first time. Chase lost .2 for the game, but Hall lost more than that and fell through him. Active career wise, Chase is actually 8th, but a few others having joined moved him back to 23. I dont see how he cracks the top 20 on this.
National TD Passes:
6. Danny Wueffel________'93-'96______114
7. Chad Pennington______'97-'99______100
8. Matt Leinart___________'02-'05______99
9. Chase Daniel_________'05-'08______96
Four TD's for Chase put him in the top 10 (actually tied with Chase Clement of Rice...not sure what it is about people named Chase. Anyway, Clement only has one game remaining, so I feel confident Chase D. will forge ahead). Getting 100 total seems to be pretty likely when all is said and done
TD's Responsible For:
1. Chase Daniel_________'05_'08________106
Brad Smith___________'02-'05_________102
Nationally, Daniel still ranks third active behind Chase Clement of Rice and Graham Herrell without any hope of catching either
Total Offense: (National and Mizzou)
1. Timmy Chang_______'00-'04_____16910
2. Graham Harrell______active_____15192
3. Colt Brennan________'05-'07_____14740
4. Ty Detmer__________'88-'91_____14665
5. Kevin Kolb__________'03-'06_____13715
6. Philip Rivers________'00-'03_____13582
7. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 ____ 13088
8. Chase Daniel _______‘05-08 _____12988
With the huge day of rushing, Chase is pretty likely to pass this number sometime in the 1st half, maybe even the first quarter. Also of interest and of note...Chase has 929 career yards rushing. If OU does not put him on his back too much...he does have an OK shot at rushing for 1,000 yards in his career, becoming the first member of the 13,000-1,000 club :-) In fact...and it would take some additional looking, but I am not sure any QB has ever rushed for 1,000 yards and thrown for over 10,000. Brett Basanez of Northwestern finished with 996.
All-Purpose Yardage:
1. Jeremy Maclin_______'07-'08_____5242
2. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 _____ 4419
3. Devin West _________ ‘95-98 _____ 3824
4. Brock Olivo _________ ‘94-97 _____ 3475
5. Zack Abron __________‘00-03 _____ 3426
6. Darrell Wallace ______ ‘84-87 _____ 3303
7. Joe Stewart _________‘74-77 _____ 3256
8. Tony Temple_________'04-'07_____3138
9. James Wilder _______‘78-80 _____ 2769
10. Justin Gage________'99-'02______2737
11. Chase Coffman_____'05-'08_____2605
241 yards and one hell of a painful looking injury for Maclin on the day. And what the heck...we will add Chase Coffman to the list, since he does have a shot at cracking the top 10 if he is healthy over the next couple of weeks.
(National and Mizzou) Receptions:
29. John Standeford_______'00-'03_____249
30. Nate Burleson_________'00-'02_____248
Eric Deslauriers_______'02-'06_____248
32. James Jordan_________'98-'00_____246
Chris Williams_________active_____246
Michael Thomas_______active_____246
35. David Williams________'83-'85_____245
1.Chase Coffman (TE) ____'05-08______ 236
2. Martin Rucker (TE) ______ ‘04-07_____ 203
3. Justin Gage __________ ‘99-02______ 200
4. Jeremy Maclin________'07-'08______168
5. Kenny Holly __________ ‘90-93_______151
6. Will Franklin __________ ‘04-07______ 143
7. Tommy Saunders______'05-'08______136
8. Victor Bailey___________'90-'92______128
9. Thomson Omboga______'01-'04______127
10. Brian Sallee___________'91-'94______119
11. Sean Coffey__________'02-'05______118
Pretty quiet game for Saunders with just the 4 catches so he might have lost his shot at a top 5 slot. 9 catches for Maclin still means he will finish 4th overall. I suppose a healthy Coffman has a chance to hit the national list (which has been updated with current players)
(National and Mizzou) Receiving Yardage:
1. Ibn Green (national TE)____'96-'99_____2830
1. Justin Gage ____________‘99-02_____2704
2. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08_____2544
3. Jeremy Maclin__________'07-'08_____2230
4. Martin Rucker (TE) _______ ‘04-07_____2175
5. Victor Bailey ____________ ‘90-92_____2144
6. Will Franklin ____________ ‘04-07_____2125
7. Linzy Collins ____________ ‘89-90_____1760
8. Kenny Holly ____________ ‘90-93_____1708
9. Sean Coffey ___________ ‘02-05______1596
10. Tommy Saunders_______'05-'08_____1495
11. Mel Gray _____________ ‘68-70______1491
12. Hank Burnine __________ ‘53-55_____1445
Maclin stood to make a big move and that he did. I doubt he catches Coffman, who I doubt catches Gage. In fact, the only movement I see left on this list would be Saunders passing Coffey for 9th all time. Maclin is only 35 yards short of breaking Victor Bailey's single season mark of 1,210
Receiving TD's:
1. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08_______ 29
2. Jeremy Maclin__________'07-'08_______20
3.. Martin Rucker (TE) _______ ‘04-07______ 18
Justin Gage ____________ ‘99-02______ 18
5. Mel Gray _______________68-70_______ 14
6. Will Franklin ____________ ‘04-07______ 13
Sean Coffey ____________ ‘02-05______ 13
8. Victor Bailey ____________ ‘90-92______ 12
Dwayne Blakley _________ ‘98-01______ 12
10. Tommy Saunders_______'05-'08______10
Gibler, Marshall and Winslow__________10
Time to add Saunders as Coffman and Maclin pull away from the pack a bit.
Kicker Scoring:
25. Jeff Jaeger____________'83-'86_____358
Dusty Mangum_________'01-'04_____358
27. Justin Medlock_________'02-'06_____357
28. Brett Jaekle___________active______356
29. Garrett Rivas__________'03-'06_____354
30. Kevin Butler___________'81-'84_____353
John Lee_____________'82-'85_____353
Max Zendajas__________'82-85_____353
33. Derek Mahoney________'90-'93_____351
34. Martin Gramatica_______'94-'98_____349
35. Jeff Wolfert__________ ‘06-08_____ 347
Wolfert will hopefully move up this chart in his last two games, and 10 points per game could get him pretty close to top 20 all time (depending on what the actives do in the same time). Wolfert is still the active leader in points per game of the kickers with 8.9 per game and has on average 11 fewer games (obviously) as anyone else who is active is also a senior. He has also tied his record of 67 PAT's in a season (set last year) and 12 points off of his own single-season total of 130 (has 118 currently)
Sacks:
1. Brian Smith__________'03-'06_____31.5
2. Justin Smith_________'98-'00_____22.5
3. Stryker Sulak________'05-'08_____20.5
4. Lorenzo Williams_____'04-'07_____19
5. Rick Lyle____________'90-'93______18
6. Bobby Bell___________'81-'83______17
Steve Martin__________'92-'95______17
Antwaun Bynum_______'00-'02______17
9. Xzavie Jackson_______'03-'06______16.5
10 C.J. Mosely__________'02-'04______15.5
11. Ziggy Hood_________'05-'08______14.5
Two sacks credited to Sulak on the week puts him within shouting distance of Godzilla.
Interceptions:
1. Adrian Jones________'86-'89________15
2. Ken Baston_________'63-'65________14
Bill Whitaker_________'77-'80________14
4. Erik McMillan________'84-'87_________13
5. Eric Wright__________'78-'80________11
William Moore______'05-'08_________11
7. Roger Wehrli________'66-'68________10
Harold Piersey_______'95-'98________10
Kevin McIntosh_______'91-'94________10
Willy Mo finally ties Eric Wright. Let's hope he makes a late charge here. If he does, I have to like our chances in our last three games.
