Mizzou Links, 3-7-08

We have to start the Links with this well-done Joe Walljasper piece on Mizzou's basketball recruiting class of 2004 and how nothing really happened the way it was supposed to for "the lost generation."

So...one more round of games left in the Big 12, and almost nothing has been decided.  KU and UT are tied for first; KSU's only 1 game ahead of ATM, BU, and OU in the race for third (fourth, fifth, and sixth); OSU and Tech are only one game behind that threesome; and NU and MU are tied for 9th.  Nothing's set in stone.

So MU's Pro Day came and went yesterday, with 14 Tigers being evaluated by NFL scouts.  Tony Temple ran a 4.47 (same time as Felix Jones), Will Franklin pulled off a 40.5" vertical, and Darnell Terrell worked out at...receiver?  PowerMizzou has photos, plus a few extra bits of info in this week's Chamber.  It really does appear that nobody has helped their draft stock more than Will Franklin, whose speed and athletic ability have possibly made him a 2nd-round pick.

The Missourian has a couple articles on the upcoming Big 12 Wrestling Tournament in Stillwater.  First up is a preview of how stacked the tourney will be--of the 40 Big 12 wrestlers ranked in the Top 20 of their weight class, at least two will not make the national tournament.  Next up is a look at Nick Marable, the conference #1 seed at 165 pounds who has only been taken down once all year in his weight class.  Big12sports.com will be offering live video of the proceedings in Stillwater.

Finally, just so we don't go an entire links post without spring football news, here's a PM story on five key position battles to watch.
