Tuesday Football Practice Links!

  • Dave Matter: Sun shines on Tigers
I got a good look at the quarterbacks on Tuesday, and at this point I can report with confidence that the competition appears to be for No. 2 on the depth chart. Granted, this is just my non-expert observation — and the coaches will have to see a couple scrimmages before declaring a starter — but Blaine Gabbert thoroughly looks like the most advanced of the candidates for the No. 1 job. The ball simply comes out of his hand at a different velocity than the others. And now that he’s got some confidence and knows what he’s doing from drill to drill, it’s easy to see why Gabbert was the MVP of the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp two summers ago. Kid can wing it.
