Mizzou Links, 5-27-09

On the eve of the Women's College World Series, we get a few nice softball links...

  • The Trib: Way to the World Series
  • KC Star: Sticking together gets Missouri back to college softball's World Series

Missouri enters Women’s College World Series play with a best-ever 50-10 record, including an incredible 16-1 on neutral sites.

Rhea Taylor, Mizzou’s center fielder and leadoff hitter, notes the will of this team.

“Everybody on this team, this year, wants to win, and has the heart to,” Taylor said.

That, Minner contends, is as important as anything.

“Talent can only take you so far,” Minner said. “But when you have heart, and you have your teammates just picking you up whenever you’re down, constantly and sincerely and consistently, that’s the difference.”

  • Post-Dispatch: West has laid waste to Series
  • East Valley Tribune: Title brings higher expectations [for Arizona State]

To baseball, where The Trib takes a look at what awaits Missouri (and Golden Spikes Semifinalist Kyle Gibson) in Oxford.

Finally...going through recruiting withdrawal?  Need a fix?  PowerMizzou's got one...check out this film on star recruit Justin McCay (Shawnee, KS), this article on New Madrid Central's Kony Ealy (not tremendously encouraging), and this one on potentially Missouri's next stud from Midwest City (OK).
