So let me get this straight. In almost successive Sundays, we've seen the US almost beat Brazil in soccer, Andy Roddick almost beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon, and Tom Watson almost win the British Open...and they all came up short. Apparently the Sports God is bored and mean this summer.
Mizzou Links
One of the best moments of the summer took place late on Friday: the updated Mizzou summer roster was released!! All expected freshmen, other than Sheldon Richardson of course, are on the list, which is always good to see. Michael Sam and Donavan Bonner are both listed as linebackers, which takes some of the suspense out of that one.
After a relatively interesting (and familiar) series of ranking the Big 12 North unit-by-unit (they also ranked the schedules), it was time for PowerMizzou to add up the totals and see what happens. The result? Same as when RMN did it--while the exact totals don't really matter, we get further proof that while Nebraska or Kansas definitely could win the North, maybe it's not such a good idea to assume it...

"I get to be known as Tim Tebow's coach for four more months," Meyer said. "And I'm going to enjoy every freakin' minute of it." More on Tebow: "He's my Vitamin B-12. If I'm not there with him, I call him every day."
