  • MUtigers.com: Tigers Host Aggies on Wednesday
Texas A&M has won five consecutive against Missouri including two straight in Columbia ... Missouri leads the overall series 11-7, but hasn’t won since a 74-68 triumph on March 11, 2004, in Dallas, Texas, in the Big 12 Tournament ... Missouri is 5-2 vs. the Aggies all-time in Columbia.

Big 12 Links

I just cannot say enough about how bad an idea a 96-team NCAA tournament is.  If they do pursue it, I'll probably throw together a "What If they'd done this in the past?" series, but ... I certainly won't enjoy it much.  We complain about 6-6 football teams being rewarded for mediocrity ... well just wait until a 15-17 Big East team makes the tournament ... which will almost certainly happen unless they put in a "nobody under .500" rule ... in which case a 17-15 ACC team would take their place.

Signing Day Tomorrow!!

  • The Trib: New crop of DBs for Tigers carries 'orgasmic'?! label

"If the Tigers signed a taller defensive back who plays like [E.J.] Gaines, they’ve signed a pro prospect," in-state recruiting analyst Danny Heitert said. "Over the past two seasons Gaines has put together an orgasmic highlight package."

    ...

"Everyone was afraid to throw at him," Fort Osage Coach Ryan Schartz told The Examiner newspaper. "If they did, he made them pay."

Here’s proof: In a Class 5 sectional victory last season, Park Hill’s quarterback targeted the receiver Gaines was covering three times. Gaines intercepted two of those passes and knocked down another.

For the season, Gaines made 89 tackles and picked off five passes.
