Mizzou Links, 5-26-10

D'oh!  Forgot to set up the Tuesday night Roundtable Questions thread ... figured that would happen at some point. If you've got any good questions, go ahead and post them here ... I'll be sending out the roundtable e-mail around 8:00 or 8:30, though, so ... yeah.  Early risers go ahead and share ... otherwise, I'll go it alone.

We start with this fun PowerMizzou link featuring the Top Ten (Mizzou) Stories of 2009-10...hard to argue with much of this, though #1 is a bit depressing (since nothing has happened)...

Mizzou Football Links

  • Dallas Morning News: Big 12 and Pac-10 discussing a football scheduling alliance for TV

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott told Rivals.com this week that he and Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe like the idea of creating a football TV package of non-conference games between the two leagues because it would create national exposure and provide the financial growth both conferences are looking for in their next TV deal.

The cable portion of the Big 12 football TV contract expires in 2012 and is up for renegotiation in 2011. The Big 12’s network football contract with ABC/ESPN is good through 2015.

Mizzou Basketball Links

  • MUtigers.com: J.Y.D. Working Out in Columbia

Q: Missouri is really on the upswing nationally. Do you take some pride knowing that you played a big part in this program’s growth?

DC: I’m real proud of what’s being accomplished here. I’m proud of everything going on at Mizzou, not just basketball. When I got here there weren’t a lot of positive feelings towards the program, but that’s changed. It’s not just a football school anymore. These guys today are changing that. I’m just proud to have been a part of it.

Q: Current and former Tigers really love coming back here. What makes Columbia so special to you guys?

DC: It’s the people. You come back and people come up and say hello and ask about you as a person. The people of Columbia played a big role in shaping me and they helped us as a team by supporting this program. It’s a great place to be… that’s why I come back here so often.

Because I haven't provided a good Ebert link in a while, and because nobody writes a negative review with as much fun or relish as he does (seriously, as soon as I see he gave a movie 1 or 1.5 stars, I click on that link as fast as I possibly can), I'm passing along his review for Sex and the City 2, which is his latest fun-as-hell takedown...
