Mizzou-Miami Links

  • The Trib (Dave Matter): Writer's Block: Miami (Ohio)

BTS: Miami has already doubled its win total from last year. In what areas has this team improved most from 2009?

Schemtzer: In what areas hasn’t it improved? Offensively, they’ve cut down on turnovers. QB Zac Dysert has thrown one interception in the last two games after throwing four in the opener at Florida, and Miami still hasn’t lost a fumble this year. Defensively, improved speed is helping the young secondary correct mistakes, allowing the line and linebackers to be more aggressive. Trevor Cook also is kicking as a senior like it was hoped he would when he was given a scholarship as a freshman.

Conrad: The one area of improvement is the defensive line and its play against the run. The RedHawks rank fifth in the nation in run defense.
