  • Jasper Simmons
The Trib (Dave Matter): MU suspends safety indefinitely

Missouri senior free safety Jasper Simmons has been suspended indefinitely for violating undisclosed team policies, team spokesman Chad Moller confirmed on Monday. It is not a legal situation, Moller said. Simmons has missed Missouri's last three games while recovering from surgery on his meniscus, which he tore in the Sept. 4 opener against Illinois. The junior college transfer from Pensacola, Fla., was MU's fourth-leading tackler last season.

Missouri (4-0) is off this weekend and returns to action Oct. 9 against Colorado, a 6 p.m. matchup in Columbia.

For those who missed the discussion yesterday, the rumor is that the suspension is alcohol-related, which ... good GOD, guys. Enough already.  Luckily for Mizzou, guys like Kenji Jackson have really stepped up their game this year.  Missing Simmons has not been as much of a loss as I had initially expected.  So far, anyway.
