The Trib (Steve Walentik): Tough to handicap 2011 Big 12 race
3. Missouri (23-11, 8-8)
The loss of Mike Anderson doesn't seem as significant as Turgeon's departure because, unlike the former A&M coach, he didn't seem to be maximizing the talent on his roster during a disappointing 23-11 season. But it could still set the Tigers back as they try to adjust to a new coaching staff and a new way of play. New Coach Frank Haith does have some talent to work with, particularly after Laurence Bowers and Kim English made wise decisions to return for their senior season. Marcus Denmon, the only member of the All-Big 12 first team coming back next season, figures to again lead the offensive attack, but it'll be Haith's ability to get his new players to invest defensively that will determine if the Tigers are really conference title contenders. It wouldn't hurt if Missouri added another big body before the end of the spring signing period, which runs through May 18.

Let the process of moving Aaron Crow to the starting rotation begin!
Crow posted three scoreless innings in New York last night. Granted, he allowed six baserunners, but his peripherals for the season -- 22 baserunners, 18 K's and two earned runs in 19.1 innings -- are still rather ridiculous.
