  • The Trib (Steve Walentik): 2012 recruits will need to produce

While it would be stunning if the Tigers didn't make a fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance this season, continuing that streak is going to be a daunting task. If we've learned anything, it's that roster situations are fluid, but Missouri should have some solid building blocks in the backcourt with Dixon and Pressey. Ross, and perhaps Bell, would also figure to contribute after leading their respective teams in scoring. But it's too early to know how good Green might be, and he's in line to be the only returning player in the frontcourt.

Haith and his staff are going to have their work cut out for them filling in around those players. They have a verbal commitment from Hutchinson Community College forward Quantel Denson, though his status is a little hazy because of his recent legal trouble, and it's unknown how big a contributor he might be anyway. The coaches seem to be making headway with some top prospects in the 2012 recruiting class, including Purvis, the nation's seventh-ranked recruit. But it remains to be seen who will actually end up signing letters of intent. Purvis, a one-time Louisville commitment from Raleigh, N.C., is said to be favoring hometown schools Duke and North Carolina State at this point.
