This really isn't the way one hoped Dorial Green-Beckham would follow up on his most successful weekend as a Missouri Tiger. According to The Maneater, Green-Beckham and two other freshmen, Torey Boozer and Levi Copelin were arrested for possession of fewer than 35 grams of marijuana last night.
Weimer said there were two others in the vehicle at the time, but the investigation determined they had nothing to do with the marijuana and they were released.
Green-Beckham, Boozer and Copelin were taken to the police department for processing and released on signature summons, Weimer said.
In a statement, team spokesman Chad Moller said the three will be suspended from the football program for one game.
"We’re aware of the incident and have addressed it," he said in the statement. "All individuals involved have been immediately suspended from the program for one game. All other disciplinary measures will be handled internally, and there will be no further comment."
Honestly, I cannot get as worked up about this as I should -- there is marijuana usage on every football team in the country -- but ... ugh. A) I am not enjoying the 2012 season. B) Come on, DGB, you have a larger spotlight on you than most, and you really don't want to go down this road. C) Really? You guys were just sitting in a car?
