Mizzou scores a nice 2014 commit, Kendial Lawrence is Mizzou's best offensive player, and Mike Dixon is still suspended.

So there is still plenty of work to be done on Missouri's 2013 football recruiting class, but Mizzou got some fantastic news about 2014 class: Vianney running back Markel Smith, one of the state's top players for that class, decided to go and pull the trigger, committing to Mizzou right after his season ended. Smith is not the customary Mizzou running back: with plenty of time to still develop physically, Smith is already a solid 210 pounds; he rushed for 2,342 yards and 27 touchdowns this season. Nice pickup. He is Mizzou's second known 2014 commitment, along with star DeSmet lineman Andy Bauer.

Here's some Smith film from his sophomore season last year:

Now, it's back to the present tense...
