I know, I know. Mizzou had infinite chances to win the game before the end. As well as they played in building a huge lead, they succumbed to equally stellar play (especially on defense) by Kansas. And I know, I know. Kansas fans will try to equate the phantom whistle on Phil Pressey to the calls at the end of the game at Mizzou Arena. That's fine. All I know right now is, Marcus Denmon made two incredible shots in the final minute of overtime to give Mizzou an improbable lead, and his heroics were done in when Pressey was called for an absolutely atrocious foul with eight seconds left. Tyshawn Taylor made both free throws, Mizzou couldn't get a shot off on their final possession, and the Jayhawks took the rematch, and, basically, the Big 12 title.
All the stars were stars today -- Denmon had 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting, Ricardo Ratliffe had 22 and 12, Thomas Robinson had 28 and 12, and Taylor had 24. Mizzou needed a call at the end to stem the tide, and they didn't get it. Such is life, I guess. This one's going to be hard to swallow, however.
