#MIZZOU has won the 2012 Big 12 Wrestling Championships for the first time ever! #d1wrestle #big12wrestle

In what is both a surprising and wonderfully deserved upset, the Missouri Tigers won their first (and, obviously, last) Big 12 Wrestling title today in Columbia, defeating, among other teams, the No. 3 Oklahoma State Cowboys. Missouri won titles at 125 pounds (Alan Waters), 157 (Drake Houdashelt), 165 (Zach Toal) and 184 (Mike Larson) and finished second at 133 (Nathan McCormick), 149 (Kyle Bradley), 174 (Dorian Henderson) and 197 (Brent Haynes). This is the culmination of over a decade of work by Brian Smith and the Mizzou staff, and as they leave the conference and head into a bit of an unknown space (the SEC does not wrestle), they can claim a ring on the way out the door. Fantastic, fantastic achievement.
1. Missouri (77.0 points)
2. Oklahoma State (73.0)
3. Oklahoma (60.5)
4. Iowa State (24.0)
