"Branded Destination Experience"
The Trib: Missouri's advertising blitz enters gaming worldFrom March to May, Missouri delivered an awareness campaign that attracted the eyeballs of an estimated 32 million people, using billboards, TV commercials and online advertising. Missouri even infiltrated one of the most sacred places for its targeted audience — video games.
"That seemed compelling to us knowing how many people, especially young adults, play video games," said Grinch, MU's associate athletic director for strategic communications.
Here's how it worked: Missouri bought ad space on the homepages of games through Xbox Live, the online service for Xbox 360, with an emphasis on targeted regions in SEC territory. If gamers clicked on the MU logo, they'd be taken to what's called a "branded destination experience," where they'd come across more Missouri images plus an MU commercial and highlight videos from the football and men's basketball teams.
"It's the coolest thing," Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden said. "If a kid plays 'Call of Duty' on Xbox, all of a sudden there's an icon on there for Mizzou and the SEC. If he clicks there, all of a sudden he sees the commercial we produced. Well, son of a gun. The click-throughs there have been phenomenal."

PowerMizzou: Camp Notebook: Kansas CityZACH HANNON - OL 6'5", 295 - Kansas City, Mo. (Rockhurst)
Hannon and Boyd have spent the summer traveling to various camps, and they stood side-by-side at William Jewell here in their hometown. Hannon didn't work out for MU coaches, but that's because he probably didn't feel like he had to. Like Boyd, the Tigers have already offered him a scholarship, and he said he's hoping to decide by early July. Hannon said he spoke to Pinkel, Andy Hill and all of the offensive line coaches, adding that "Missouri's one of those places that just feels like home.
