    PowerMizzou: Camp Notebook: St. Louis

In addition to Missouri's commitments, 2013 Rockwood-Summit linebacker Eric Beisel made a late appearance at the camp. He was immediately approached by defensive coordinator Dave Steckel, and the two were inseperable for the majority of the afternoon. Beisel is uncommitted, and is considering offers from the Tigers, Illinois, Arkansas and Iowa, among others.

The Trib (Dave Matter): Emptying the Destin Notebook

I tweeted this during Tuesday, but if there were any doubts that football reigned supreme in the SEC, this scene proved it: At one point, I counted 25 reporters huddled around South Carolina football Coach Steve Spurrier, several of whom were asking about such crucial topics as his golf game. About 20 feet away, first-year South Carolina basketball Coach Frank Martin sat all by his lonesome, punching away at his Blackberry. In the room next door, Kentucky hoops Coach John Calipari, arguably the country’s most well-known hoops coach not named Mike Krzyzewski, was engaged by one — yes, one — reporter. That’s about 34 less writers than the crowd Nick Saban commanded a few minutes later. Yes, even Kentucky’s national championship-winning coach is just another guy in the crowd when his SEC football peers are in the house.

Larry Scott has targeted Asia as a major focus of the conference's growth--and Hawaii would serve as a major gateway to Japan and Polynesia, connecting with those markets in a way that no other state could. That could make Hawaii far more valuable than its TV market would suggest.
