Yeah, so the football last night wasn't great. But a) somebody had to go first, and b) DON'T CARE. FOOTBALL.

Also ... good to have Mike Alden signed through most of the decade.

Southeastern Louisiana, Missouri's opponent for Saturday's football season opener, plans to fly out of the Baton Rouge airport Friday and into Columbia, a team spokesman said.

The team was expected to fly out of the New Orleans airport. That was before Hurricane Isaac dropped several inches of rain and up to 80 mph winds into the New Orleans metro area over the past two days.

Southeastern Louisiana posted its sixth losing season in the last seven years during the 2011 season, according to the school's media guide. The team stumbled to a 3-8 record while losing 6 out of 7 conference games, and head coach Mark Lucas was fired at the end of the year.

However, the team managed to beat rival Nicholls State for the first time in three seasons to close the 2011 campaign. Seventeen starters return under new head coach Ron Roberts, the former head coach of Division II Delta State. Louisiana Southeastern kicks off its season against Missouri, possibly drawn by the lure of the big money the school pays to its nonconference home opponents.

But Pinkel contends Boehm, who stands 6 feet 3 and is already Missouri’s third-heaviest offensive lineman at 310 pounds, would have been competing for playing time regardless of the injuries. He’s just that talented and mature, co-offensive line coach Josh Henson said.

"He’s really picked up the game well, and he’s worked at that because he wanted to play this year," Henson said. "He’s worked hard this summer, just making sure he knew the calls, and he’s buddied up with Elvis Fisher, one of the smarter guys we’ve got … so I think that’s helped Evan also."
