Mizzou Links, 1-7-13

Mizzou's 11-2, Phil Pressey's kinda important, Tiger Hoops scores an enormous (literally) 2013 commit, Mizzou Football misses out on one, and the Mizzou Women can get smoking hot from 3-point range.

One other note: Mizzou did score a commitment from an enormous junior college center, Keanau Post (6'11, 260), over the weekend. Expect a post on him soon.

So it appears the Bad Season Checklist has struck again. As you see below, Kansas City DT Maliek Collins committed to Nebraska this weekend. Combined with the fact that it appears Mizzou is on the outside looking in with JUCO DTs Ben Bradley and Toby Johnson, this really isn't what you wanted to see from this class. Recruiting tails off when you struggle on the field, but it looked at least a bit like Mizzou could curtail some of the damage. Harold Brantley, I hope you're the real deal next year.

The good news: Robin Pingeton's Mizzou women can get smoking hot from 3-point range. The Tigers made 18 of 36 3-pointers (Morgan Eye: 11-for-18 ... and 0-for-1 on 2-pointers) and moved to 1-1 in conference with a six-point win over Auburn.

The bad news: If Mizzou was going to make 18 of 36 3-pointers in a game, I'd hope they'd win by more than six points.
