Mizzou Basketball returns to the Hearnes Center

This is really, really exciting. As of tomorrow, we'll be only two weeks away from Mizzou's return to Hearnes, where Frank Haith's Tigers will play an exhibition versus Oklahoma City, and where the classic 1993-94 Mizzou squad will be honored (and where a certain son of the team's best player will probably be in attendance, ahem). Can't miss this.

And as long as we're talking about Norm Stewart, here's a little more from Norm:

Former Missouri Basketball Head Coach and College Basketball Hall of Famer Norm Stewart hosted his sixth annual American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer Season Tipoff Reception at Kansas City's Municipal Auditorium on Tuesday night.

Joined by current Tiger Head Coach Frank Haith, along with Bill Self (Kansas), Kareem Richardson (UMKC), Bruce Weber (Kansas State) and Gregg Marshall (Wichita State), the group worked together to raise awareness and funding for the Coaches vs. Cancer program, which has helped to raise more than $100 Million for cancer research since its inception.

The program began as the "Three Point Attack ... Norm' Special Challenge" in the early 1990s and was adopted by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) shortly thereafter.

"It was a fantastic event and while we all compete against one another on the court and in recruiting, the coaching community is a close one and we are all excited to work with Coach Stewart for this outstanding cause," Head Coach Frank Haith said. "This was my third time coming up for this tip-off and this was the best one yet... incredible turnout, great coaches and great fans. It's one of our highlights of the preseason."
