So who's going to be at the B&G game on Saturday?

Just in case Drew Crawford is a realistic option, here are Northwestern's 2012-13 stats. Crawford averaged 13.5 points per game on 40% shooting (42% 2-pointers, 37% 3-pointers, 82% free throws), with 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.6 turnovers, and 1.0 steals per game. He's a 6'5, 210 senior from Naperville who played just 10 games for the Wildcats in 2012-13 after tearing his labrum. He'd fit right in here! He would be eligible to play immediately if he were to decide to transfer.

The Trib: Earleywine: "This is uncharted territory" (and so much more)

Question: Earlier in the season, you mentioned that Chelsea could pitcher herself into pitching shape by starting every conference game. Still feel that's a possibility?

Earleywine: I'm not sure anymore. I don't have a good grasp on if she can pitch herself into the shape anymore. I just don't know. The whole deal with the blister now as a new mechanic throws a little bit of a new variable in there. I don't really know. This is uncharted territory for me. I'm praying that's the case. I'm praying that three weeks from now she goes, 'Oh I'm feeling pretty good. I'm hardly ever getting a blister anymore. I feel like I'm in better shape. My legs are stronger.' That would be a beautiful thing. But it may not (happen). The way I have to plan is that it's not. I hope for the best. I plan for the worst. […]

Last season, Missouri lost to LSU in a three-game Super Regional, a series highlighted by some physical play and tense moments between players. Said Earleywine of the series at LSU this weekend: "I'm sure they'll continue to play the way they play. All reports indicate that. You know, expecting my team to do the same. Never at any time, do you back down from any of that. You establish that you need to be respected, whatever that looks like." Later, referring to his team, he said, "I just want them to play normal softball, but when situations arise — whether it's blocking a bag, or sliding in hard — to run through it and not to pull back."
