2013 NCAA Softball regionals: Mizzou advances to sixth straight Super Regional

The bats came alive just in time. After losing the first game of the day, 10-0, with Nicole Hudson on the mound, and after scoring just four runs with seven hits in three games, Mizzou's offense found a rhythm against exhausted Hofstra ace Olivia Galati. In the final game of the regional, Kelsea Roth and Nicole Hudson hit home runs, Mizzou pounded out eight hits, and the Tigers eventually won, 5-0.

Chelsea Thomas has seen her innings limited by injury, but not her effectiveness. She allowed just one hit, struck out nine, improved as the afternoon progressed, and brought home her second win of the regional. And while Hudson got shelled in the first game of the day, her Friday win over Stony Brook allowed for Mizzou to get away with Thomas pitching only twice.

This will be the Tigers' sixth consecutive Super Regional appearance, an incredible run for Ehren Earleywine and Team Stubble. Mizzou will face No. 11 Washington in Columbia next weekend. Survive, advance, celebrate.
