Happy end-of-May! Chase Abbington won't be in Columbia next year, Tim Jamieson will, and apparently Nevin Shapiro isn't a very trustworthy storyteller...

1. Chase Abbington's headed to Hutchinson JUCO

As I shared yesterday in comments, there had been rumblings about Abbington failing to qualify for a while, so this doesn't necessarily come as a surprise. Plus, if it has to happen, it might as well happen at a position where Mizzou doesn't currently need the help. Unless he was an incredible stud (always possible, I guess), Abbington was probably going to redshirt anyway, so while he could potentially be missed in 2014 (then again, none of the running backs are seniors...), it probably doesn't hurt much in 2013.

That said, of course, it's a further blow to a class that already didn't grade out incredibly well. In terms of the perception-is-reality game, this doesn't help.
