J-Mac's out, camp's three days away, Mizzou's moving east, Wes Clark's looking good, and Janelle Monae is weird in the right ways.

And Hey, How's Gabbert Doing?

The talk of the day centered around the improved play of the quarterbacks, especially that of Blaine Gabbert. Through the first two days of camp Gabbert struggled mightily, but on the third day he improved quite a bit. Gabbert started slow in individual drills, but in 11-v-11 he hit on some key passes, especially down the field. Gabbert came on late in practice, hitting Mike Brown deep down the sideline on a perfect strike, hitting the receiver in stride to pick up a big gain. Following up a day where he had a number of botched snaps and a few interceptions, he had neither.

And Chase?
KC Star: Offensive lineman Jeff Allen carted from field at Chiefs training camp

Perhaps the throw of the practice was made by Missouri’s Chase Daniel, who completed a gorgeous over-the-shoulder pass to tight end Tony Moeaki for a touchdown. Moeaki was running a seam route over the middle.

Music Monday

It makes me so happy that there is still a place for weird in today's pop landscape. Janelle Monae is basically a combination of Outkast and the Ad-Libs. She's awesome. And super strange. But awesome. I mean, the bass line in "Tightrope" actually walking a tight rope? Love that touch.
