Investigation regarding Dorial Green-Beckham's arrest might take a while

This afternoon, Dave Matter posted an update on the Dorial Green-Beckham investigation:

Springfield police were still investigating the case Monday and had not submitted its case to Greene County prosecuting attorney Dan Patterson, Patterson said in an email.

"With regard to the specific matter to which you refer, the matter is currently under investigation by the Springfield Police Department and has not been referred to my office at this time," he said. "Drug related felony investigations typically require analysis by the (Missouri State Highway Patrol) crime laboratory which typically has a turnaround time of 3 to 6 months."

Patterson added that, "it would not be proper for me to speculate about what charges might be filed or against whom."

That doesn't automatically clinch that it will be three to six months before we find out if (and for what) DGB will be charged, but it's certainly a sign that we're not exactly going to be looking at a conclusion for this by the end of the week ... or even the start of spring football.
