Control of the SEC East. Only Missouri, Georgia and Florida control their own fate in the division-title race. The Tigers, who are host to Georgia and travel to Florida next weekend, have a chance to bury all three teams who were picked ahead of them in the preseason media poll and get a leg up on returning to Atlanta.
"Mathematically, it doesn't assure anybody anything. It doesn't assure the winner of winning the league and it doesn't assure the loser of not winning the East," Richt said. "But the more games we play, the more valuable they are… If we lose, we're—in essence—three games behind Missouri. That's pretty tough to overcome. They'd have to lose three times to give us a chance. We don't want to think about that. We want to try to get this thing and not have to worry about somebody getting beat."

Gary Pinkel reversed course in the middle of an answer Monday. After delving into the Tigers’ passing issues against South Carolina on Sept. 27, Missouri’s coach started to expand further on the topic before halting himself.
Back on Sept. 13, Mauk proved he could. Against Central Florida, Mauk rifled an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jimmie Hunt while scrambling away from pressure to his left. With a linebacker chasing him toward the sideline, Mauk squared his shoulders just long enough to flick a strike to Hunt that traveled 28 yards in the air.
In Gary Pinkel's first 13 years coaching Missouri, four receivers eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for a season.
Head coach Gary Pinkel said there is a "greater than 50 percent chance" the Tigers' top two recieving threats will play Saturday against the Bulldogs. Both missed Missouri's win over South Carolina on Sept. 27 with injuries.

Ray is the son of former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman Wendell Ray and a redshirt junior defensive end for the Missouri Tigers. Until this year, he was a reserve defensive end behind former Co-SEC Player of the Year Michael Sam and Carolina Panthers second-round pick Kony Ealy. Now that Ray has finally been given the chance to shine as a starter, he hasn’t disappointed. Through the first five games of the 2014 college football season, Ray has recorded eight sacks (second in college football), 11.5 tackles for loss (also second) to go with 30 tackles (26 solo and four assisted). Ray’s production may lead some to wonder whether he is the best defensive end to come out of Missouri since Aldon Smith.
Like all football players, Vincent has had his shares of bumps and bruises, cuts and scrapes, but he had never dealt with a significant muscle or joint injury.

Huntington Prep Coach Arkell Bruce -- who replaced MU assistant Rob Fulford in that role after spending the past six seasons as his assistant coach -- discussed the status of Bryant's recruitment in a phone interview Thursday and said Missouri is squarely in the running to land his services. "Missouri is in the top three along with Indiana and Syracuse," Bruce said. "I don’t know what order he may have them in. I don’t know if he’s leaning one way or the other, but I know Missouri is very strong as far as his consideration is concerned.
