I think it's always good to have guys come home and walk on. Barton was a guy who was too undersized at the point position in high school to warrant any big time offers. But he's a solid player who is willing to be little more than a practice guy with a chance to play for his hometown school. Barton is a solid player who will be able to help the others develop and challenge them in practice.

Clearly, we need more JIMMIE! But what I'm really excited about for Barton is we've got a new Human Victory Cigar in the mold of a Jarrett Sutton. Home town kid who plays a guard position who's going to jack up a bunch of threes that will get the crowd on their feet and the rest of the starters all amped up when he hits them. Corey Haith did not fit in this role, here's hoping JIMMIE can.

Weirdly enough, Barnard is a guy that could be able to help at some point, but it's not going to happen this year. He "committed" to a preferred walk-on status and redshirted a year and has done a nice job of putting on weight so he can now almost hold his own against Rosburg and Post in practice. But you can't teach size and Barnard has that. I don't know that I ever see him doing more than say 6-8 minutes a game, and certainly not this season. I'm curious to see what the coaches will expect to get out of him over the years, if anything.
