Mizzou Links, 2-21-14: Jabari Brown, spring football, and #Stubble

Jabari Brown's off-night on Wednesday was so rare that we're still talking about it. Plus: spring football is less than three weeks away (!!!), Team Stubble records a big win, and the Fightin' Pingetons have won two in a row.

4. #stubble

MUtigers.com: No. 16 Mizzou Softball Hands No. 14 Arizona First Loss
The Missourian: No. 16 Missouri softball defeats No. 14 Arizona

Hell yes.

So Mizzou's newfangled pitching staff has faced two ranked teams so far -- one on a neutral field (Arizona) and one on the road (Baylor) -- and has allowed two earned runs in 13 innings. Casey Stangel allowed two in six to Baylor, and Tori Finucane just allowed none in seven to Arizona last night.

6. This is either dumb or incredibly tacky

Dumb: Bielema doesn't understand that he's actually accidentally trying to outlaw either running or the game of football itself.

Tacky: He's just trying to win a political argument, and he's willing to reference a semi-unrelated death to do it.

AP.com: Bielema says expects slow-down proposal to pass
Al.com: Arkansas' Bret Bielema: Player's death evidence hurry-up offenses can pose safety risk (report)

7. That's two wins in a row for the Pingetons...
