2014 Missouri depth chart: Tigers release 2-deep for Indiana

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Missouri now ranks 12th in the F/+ rankings, preparing to face No. 45 Indiana. MUtigers.com just released the Tigers' depth chart for facing the Hoosiers.

Offense

QB
Maty Mauk (6'0, 195, So.) (647 yards, 62% completion rate, 12 TD, 3 INT, 3 sacks, 7.9 yards/attempt; 20 carries, 102 yards, 1 TD)
Eddie Printz (6'2, 215, RSFr.) (0-for-1)
Corbin Berkstresser (6'3, 220, Jr.)

One figures this trio is pretty much set in stone.

RB
Marcus Murphy (5'9, 190, Sr.) (37 carries, 202 yards; 6 catches, 61 yards, 1 TD) -OR-
Russell Hansbrough (5'9, 190, Jr.) (47 carries, 258 yards, 2 TD; 4 catches, 18 yards)
Ish Witter (5'10, 190, Fr.) (11 carries, 18 yards)
Tyler Hunt (5'11, 215, Jr.) (2 carries, 9 yards)

If we're looking for clues about the severity of the injury Russell Hansbrough suffered late in Saturday's game, we must find optimism in the fact that he's on the depth chart. However, Marcus Murphy is now listed as the first of the two -OR- starters. Take from that what you will. Morgan Steward is still out.

WR-X
Bud Sasser (6'2, 220, Sr.) (12 catches, 215 yards, 4 TD)
J'Mon Moore (6'3, 190, RSFr.)

WR-H
Jimmie Hunt (6'0, 205, Sr.) (11 catches, 123 yards, 4 TD)
Gavin Otte (5'10, 200, Sr.)
Lawrence Lee (5'10, 180, Fr.)

WR-Z
Darius White (6'3, 205, Sr.) (10 catches, 179 yards, 3 TD)
Wesley Leftwich (6'1, 200, Jr.) (2 catches, 10 yards)
Nate Brown (6'3, 205, Fr.)

TE
Sean Culkin (6'6, 245, So.) (3 catches, 41 yards)
Clayton Echard (6'5, 260, Jr.)
Jason Reese (6'5, 240, RSFr.)

No changes here. As with quarterback, the pecking order is pretty much set in stone. The only curiosity outside of the first string is what happens with Lawrence Lee. The freshman missed Saturday's game with injury, and a couple of reporters said that, until the injury, coaches were looking to get him some more reps. We'll see if that ever happens in 2014.

LT
Mitch Morse (6'6, 305, Sr.) (28 career starts)
Taylor Chappell (6'5, 300, Jr.)

LG
Anthony Gatti (6'6, 305, Sr.) (5 career starts)
Jordan Williams (6'3, 295, So.)

C
Evan Boehm (6'3, 320, Jr.) (29 career starts)
Brad McNulty (6'4, 305, Jr.) (5 career starts)

RG
Mitch Hall (6'5, 310, Jr.) (3 career starts)
Stephen Carberry (6'5, 300, Sr.) -OR-
Nate Crawford (6'5, 290, RSFr.)

RT
Connor McGovern (6'4, 300, Jr.) (17 career starts)
Clay Rhodes (6'5, 290, RSFr.)

No changes here after last week's shuffling sent Nate Crawford from LT to RG.

Defense

DE
Markus Golden (6'3, 260, Sr.) (15.5 tackles, 6.5 TFL, 4.0 sacks, 1 PBU, 1 QB hurry)

Marcus Loud (6'4, 260, RSFr.) (2.5 tackles, 1 QB hurry)

DT
Matt Hoch (6'5, 295, Sr.) (3.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 QB hurry) -OR-
Harold Brantley (6'3, 280, So.) (3.0 tackles, 1 PBU, 1 QB hurry)

NG
Lucas Vincent (6'2, 300, Sr.) (5.0 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks)
Josh Augusta (6'4, 335, So.) (3.5 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 INT, 1 FF)
Rickey Hatley (6'4, 285, So.) (3.0 tackles, 1.0 TFL, 1 sack, 1 FF)

DE
Shane Ray (6'3, 245, Jr.) (14.5 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 5.0 sacks, 1 FF)
Charles Harris (6'3, 255, RSFr.) (3.0 tackles, 1 PBU, 1 QB hurry)

Rickey Hatley is again on the move. He evidently moved from No. 3 DT to No. 2 DE to light a fire under Marcus Loud, and after Loud's solid performance against UCF, I guess coaches decided it worked. Hatley's back at tackle, now No. 3 NG behind Vincent and Augusta. Meanwhile, Brantley and Augusta flipped places again. Matt Hoch did not play on Saturday, but the play of Harold Brantley and Josh Augusta assured that Hoch wasn't particularly missed.

Oh yeah, and...

#MarkusPigGolden

WLB
Kentrell Brothers (6'1, 240, Jr.) (13.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL)
Darvin Ruise (6'1, 235, Sr.) (60 tackles, 1 PBU)

MLB
Michael Scherer (6'3, 230, So.) (20.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 FR, 2 QB hurries)
Eric Beisel (6'3, 225, RSFr.) (2.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL)

SLB
Clarence Green (6'0, 225, Jr.) (3.0 tackles) -OR-
Donavin Newsom (6'2, 230, So.) (3.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 QB hurry)

No changes here. Green still listed as the first -OR- starter at SLB; he and Newsom basically split Saturday's snaps.

CB
John Gibson (6'0, 190, So.) (4.5 tackles, 3 PBU)
David Johnson (5'11, 195, Jr.) (5.0 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF)

CB
Aarion Penton (5'10, 185, So.) (10.5 tackles, 2 INT, 3 PBU)
Kenya Dennis (6'0, 195, Jr.) (5.0 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 1 PBU)
Logan Cheadle (5'10, 170, Fr.)

David Morrison's Snap Counts post (linked above) told me my eyes were lying to me. UCF didn't tend to go after John Gibson's man very frequently, and every time I noticed cornerbacks (for reasons good or bad) it seemed Aarion Penton and Kenya Dennis were actually on the field. I thought maybe there was a shift in the depth chart coming, but it turned out that Gibson played 48 snaps to Dennis' 29. So there you go.

SS
Braylon Webb (6'0, 200, Sr.) (11.5 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU, 1 FR)
Duron Singleton (6'1, 210, Sr.) (11.0 tackles, 1 INT, 1 FR)
Anthony Sherrils (6'0, 190, RSFr.) (3.5 tackles)

FS
Ian Simon (6'0, 195, Jr.) (5.5 tackles, 1 FF)
Cortland Browning (6'1, 205, Jr.) (1.0 tackles)
Thomas Wilson (5'10, 190, Fr.) (3.0 tackles, 1 PBU)

No changes here. Again, the hierarchy seems more or less set. Browning didn't see the field on Saturday, but he got a few snaps against Toledo the week before; with Indiana's attacking spread coming to town this weekend, I assume he sees the field a bit more.

Special Teams

K
Andrew Baggett (6'1, 215, Jr.) (17-17 PAT, 1-2 FG <40, 1-2 FG >40)
Nick Coffman (5'11, 175, So.)

Still Baggett.

P
Christian Brinser (6'2, 195, Sr.) (12 punts, 41.2 average, 6 FC, 5 I20)
Andrew Baggett (6'1, 215, Jr.)

Still Brinser.

KR
Marcus Murphy (5'9, 190, Sr.) (3 KR, 49.3 average, 1 TD)
John Gibson (6'0, 190, So.)

PR
Marcus Murphy (5'9, 190, Sr.) (4 PR, 8.8 average)
Aarion Penton (5'10, 185, So.)

Still Murphy.
