Marcus Murphy's 100 yard Kick Return draws him even with Jeremy Maclin

With his 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the win vs. South Dakota State Marcus Murphy moved into a tie with former Mizzou standout Jeremy Maclin for the most combined kicks returned for touchdown in school history.

You might recall that Marcus Murphy was responsible for Mizzou's lone touchdown vs Alabama. He scored on a 98 yard kick return during the second quarter before rain delayed the (non) contest.

Jeremy Maclin had more yards in fewer years, in addition to being an explosive wide receiver for Mizzou before becoming a first round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Marcus Murphy has a chance to single-handedly win Mizzou games with his game breaking speed and vision. He's currently listed behind Ian Simon on the depth chart at the kick returner position, but it's clear that when Gary Pinkel needs him to come in and win games, #6 will line up deep.

If he puts himself in the Mizzou record books, that's just icing on the cake.
