Mizzou vs. Kentucky Game Thread

Mizzou meanders to the Bluegrass State to take on the number 1 team in the land.

Dak Dillon-USA TODAY Sports

In game number 3 on the conference slate, the Tigers get the privilege of going to one of the most storied facilities in college basketball. Rupp Arena is up there with places like Cameron Indoor, Pauley Pavilion and that stupid place in Lawrence when considering best college basketball venues. Missouri has played at Rupp just once before, in an overtime game two years ago, you may remember Phil Pressey's performance scoring 27 points and dishing 10 assists (many fans will lament Pressey's missed shots down the stretch) as Mizzou lost by 7 in a season where Kentucky was really struggling post Nerlens Noel injury.

That was then, this is now. Kentucky isn't struggling anymore, Missouri is.

Missouri doesn't have any advantages here. So if that chart is important (it is), then they might be in trouble vs. the Wildcats.

Missouri has never beaten Kentucky, they haven't played a ton (that will change now that they are conference mates), and in fact are 0-6 all time, and 0-4 since 1979. I'm not sure why, but I don't really expect this fact to change tonight. Maybe it's Kentucky's undefeated record, #1 overall ranking, home court advantage, 9 McDonalds All-Americans, and #1 rated defense. Maybe.

For a full breakdown of what to expect during the game, make sure you read the preview from both Chris and I. Instead of providing hope on how Mizzou might be able to win, we mostly make fun of their mascot. And there's a gif of Tim Gunn, which makes the whole thing worth reading. Aside from that, it might help to know what are the three keys for Missouri staying in the game tonight. Pay attention to those keys, as there might be a quiz later.

The last time we played Kentucky, it didn't go well either, but Jabari did something awesome and it was fun until we lost.

Last, you can usually follow along the game with me on Twitter, as well as the live thread below.
