2015 Missouri football recruiting: DL Tyrell Jacobs is a Tiger

Mizzou lands 21st commit for the 2015 class

Tyrell Jacobs, a defensive lineman from Louisiana and a one-time Oklahoma commit, just announced his commitment this afternoon.

Jacobs is rated as a mid- to high-three-star prospect by all primary recruiting services. At 6'4, 260, he projects to put on some weight and move to the middle of the defensive line in college. Including sign-and-place running back Nate Strong and two January enrollees, JUCO lineman Malik Cuellar and high school lineman Tanner Owen, Jacobs is commitment No. 21 for Mizzou's 2015 recruiting class. He is the first defensive lineman in the class ... and he probably won't be the last.

"The coaches love me and the atmosphere was just right," said Jacobs, who earlier this week told | The Times-Picayune he intended to wait until National Signing Day on Feb. 4 to make his ultimate decision. "No one was forcing it or anything, and just the players' interactions with me and the coaches' (interaction with me), and (my family) loved it.

"I wasn't even thinking about committing. I was just waiting. It just felt like home, though. (My family) loved it ever since we stepped off the plane. They just had that feeling. It's hard to explain. ... I wanted to a part of the Zou."
