Maty Mauk suspended for the remainder of 2015 season

Following a month-long suspension, Missouri's junior quarterback has been suspended a second time.

Sources told us, and Mizzou's Chad Moller has since confirmed, that Maty Mauk will be suspended for the remainder of the 2015 season for "disciplinary reasons." This comes on the heels of Mauk returning from a one-month suspension that resulted in freshman Drew Locking becoming Mizzou's starter.

Mauk has completed 52.7 percent of his passes, tallying 4,373 yards, 42 touchdowns and 19 interceptions.

Lock completed 62 of 127 passes with 538 yards and two touchdowns in four games during Mauk's initial suspension.

Mauk and JUCO transfer offensive tackle Malik Cuellar were suspended indefinitely for undisclosed team violations on Sept. 29. Cuellar returned after missing one game, while Mauk returned last week when Mizzou was on a bye week.

Still no official word on the reason for either suspension.

Mizzou (4-4) plays No. 25 Mississippi State (6-2) this Thursday night at Faurot Field.
