Mizzou Links: Two runs do Tigers in at Arkansas, Mitch Morse gets measured

Beth Hall-USA TODAY Sports

Mizzou Tigers pennantThe runs'll kill you

(Yes, I realize how that sounded.)

We know very well the importance of runs to a Mike Anderson team. Well...

1H, 8:35 - 3:52: Arkansas 12, Missouri 0
2H, 20:00 - 17:42: Arkansas 13, Missouri 3
Other 33 Minutes: Missouri 66, Arkansas 59

Two knockdown (or double-knockdown) rounds kinda spoil the fight. And that's a shame because this was the freshmen's best collective game ... ever? Since December, at least. Keep attacking the rim, Teki and Jakeenan. Keep attacking the rim, Teki and Jakeenan. Keep attacking the rim, Teki and Jakeenan.

Isabell
KC Star: Missouri notes: Freshman guard Tramaine Isabell solid in return from suspension

Isabell and the rest of Missouri’s freshmen combined for 48 of the team’s 69 points.

"I thought our young guys, once they settled down, they played without fear for the most part, and that’s an encouraging sign," Anderson said.

Guard Montaque Gill-Caesar and forward Jakeenan Gant each scored 11 points, while forward D’Angelo Allen added nine points and guard Namon Wright scored four points.

"I think he (Isabell) brought a ball-handling presence that we really needed since Wes is out," Gill-Caesar said. "Especially with their pressure, we really needed that. Wes is one of our main, if not the main ball-handler besides Keith (Shamburger), so I think Tramaine really brought that for us. He brought a three-point threat."

What do you think scouts want to see from you?

"Most likely my 40. That’s a big question, I think, for a lot of people. They want to see what it’s like. I know it’s in the air." [...]

What will an NFL team get if it picks you?

"Not a maxed-out football IQ, but I think I have a high football IQ. I’m ready to learn and I’m very coachable. I pick up on little things quickly. They’ll be picking up somebody who’s willing to work hard, eager to work hard, get out there and perform. Not somebody who’s going to be sitting back, be patient and wait. I want to work for what I need and work for what I can get."
