NCAA Tournament schedule, listings and live thread: Friday edition

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

With a bunch of 3 vs. 14 (and close to it) games on the early docket yesterday, I noted that we'd either see a series of easy wins or a series of spectacular upsets or near-upsets. Fate chose the latter, and we got maybe the most exciting start to the tournament that we've ever seen. And at the end of Day 1, we had 10 or 11 close games and four upsets, including two enormous ones (Georgia State over Baylor, UAB over Iowa State).

That's a pretty high bar for Day 2 to clear, huh?
