Mizzou offensive line in motion : Dave Matter
With Missouri thin at tailback and young at wide receiver, it’s crucial the Tigers get the most out of a fairly seasoned offensive line, starting with Ricker’s two most important veterans: senior center Evan Boehm and McGovern, who could play guard or tackle this fall. They’ve combined to start 68 games. The rest of Mizzou’s returning offensive linemen have started 29 games collectively.
Black & Gold Scrimmage Primer : Dave Matter
Assistant coach Pat Washington’s group has some athletes, but there’s not an established playmaker in the entire group. Elite athletes can mask their inexperience because they can simply jump higher or run faster than anyone else on the field. That’s how players like Jeremy Maclin and Dorial Green-Beckham became productive first-year players.
This group doesn’t have a J-Mac or DGB— not even a Sasser, who came into last year as a career complimentary piece then exploded into one of the SEC’s best receivers. Sasser knew how, when and where to get open and he caught the ball cleanly and consistently. Through three scrimmages, this group doesn’t have anyone close to those qualities — at least not yet.
