Following Mizzou's eventually easy 7-0 win over Indiana State yesterday -- the Tigers were up only 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth before pinch hitter Jordan Zolman hit a three-run homer to trigger a five-run fifth -- it's now time for an annual tradition (two in a row = annual, right?): Mizzou-Kansas at University Field.
Weather will play a role, but here is the intended schedule for the day:
10:00 a.m. CT: No. 10 Mizzou vs. Kansas (SEC+)
12:30 p.m. CT: Louisville vs. Indiana State (loser is eliminated)
3:00 p.m. CT: Mizzou-Kansas loser vs. Louisville-ISU winner (loser is eliminated)
KOMU Weather is suggesting the storms could return by 11 a.m., while the Weather Channel says we go from a 0% chance of precipitation at 9 a.m. to 40 percent at 10 a.m. to 80 percent at 11 a.m. And then it's on-and-off for the rest of the day. The games will be played ... but sporadically.
Does it still mean a lot to play Kansas? Mizzou softball's Ehren Earleywine says Read: http://t.co/VDEVFl6QpZ

Still alive
Meanwhile, Mizzou Baseball stayed alive in its quest for an NCAA berth yesterday, taking down Kentucky 6-3 on Senior Day. Tanner Houck won his eighth game of the year with nine Ks and only two earned runs over seven innings, and Breckin Williams registered his 12th save over two innings. That sets the table for an enormous rubber match today at 1:05 (or whenever). The consensus seems to be that the loser of this series has significant work to do at the SEC Tournament to still reach the NCAAs.
1:05 p.m. CT: Kentucky at Mizzou (SEC+)
Damn, JYD
DeMarre Carroll had 25 points, 10 rebounds. He's the 1st Hawk w/ 25 and 10 rebounds in a road playoff game since Mookie Blaylock in 1997

JYD has carried the Hawks at times in the playoffs, and Atlanta -- Atlanta -- is in the Eastern Conference finals as a result. That's incredible.
Hello
I'm back! I was sort of back yesterday, but I was in charge of the kid most of the day, and now I'm all the way back.
1. Munich is fun. Hopefully the piece I write about it will be good enough to justify the trip. Bayern helped out a lot, so I have no excuses.
2. Fullback U. kicked butt in my absence. I want to thank him (and everybody else who posted) for carrying all the weight around here. Also: his parents are lovely people.
3. Yeah, fine. Let's auction off a pair of Pumas.
