2015 Missouri football recruiting: Anthony Hines commits to Tigers

Missouri lands immediate help for the 2015 season

Anthony Hines is a 6'2" 185 CB out of San Mateo, California JUCO. According to 247sports he is rated a 3* cornerback and #7 available cornerback.

Tigers pick up juco defensive back : Dave Matter

Here's a scouting report from Timmi Norling of JuCo Football Scouting:

"Hines looks the part, possessing terrific height and length with athletic frame for the position. Hines is a coordinated athlete with good footwork and balance to play man or zone coverage. Hines is a physical defender with the attitude and strong enough to reroute receivers at the line of scrimmage. Hines shows fluid enough hips to turn and change direction with the ability to trail receivers downfield. Hines flashes very good click-and-close ability with strong plant foot-and-go burst to drive on underneath routes. Hines stays patient and controlled with showing a good feel in coverage, understanding when to play the ball. Hines works hard to shed with routinely maintaining outside leverage when playing the run. Hines is an aggressive and physical tackler for the position, closing on ball carriers with determination. Hines shows the ability to block kicks with getting a good jump off the ball and short-area quickness. Hines is an all-in type player with contributing against the run or pass and on special teams. Hines lacks elite speed and transitioning skills due to his long limbs. Hines can play over aggressive with rerouting receivers and a tendency to be too hands on down the field in coverage. Hines has prototypical physical traits and scheme versatility coaches’ desire for the position."

Anthony Hines joins a crowded secondary with Kenya Dennis, Aarion Penton, Ian Simon, Anthony Sherrils, Cortland Browning and John Gibson all experienced and fairly entrenched in their positions.

According to my Mizzou Football Scholarship Count, this gives Mizzou a 84 man roster since JUCO OL Tyler Howell did not make it to campus.

Welcome to Mizzou Anthony Hines!
